Electronics Recycling in Atlanta

Responsible e-waste disposal with documented data destruction

ABOUT THIS SERVICE

What is Electronics Recycling?

American Resources recycles business electronics and e-waste across metro Atlanta, from a single office cleanout to a full data-center decommission. We pick up at your dock or office, destroy data before any device is processed, recover valuable metals like gold, copper, and rare earths, and keep lead and mercury out of landfills, with documentation that satisfies Georgia and federal regulations.

Old computers, servers, and office electronics carry two problems at once: sensitive data and hazardous materials. Our electronics recycling service handles both: documented data destruction first, then safe, compliant processing that recovers the valuable metals inside.

From a single box of laptops to a full data center decommission, we handle computer recycling and e-waste disposal for businesses across metro Atlanta at any volume. Pickup is scheduled around your operations (dock, office suite, or server room), and every load is documented from collection to final processing.

We recover gold, silver, copper, and rare earth elements, keeping finite resources in circulation while preventing lead, mercury, and cadmium from reaching landfills.

Retiring equipment on a refresh cycle? Our IT asset disposition (ITAD) support covers inventory lists, data destruction documents, and diversion reporting: the paperwork your compliance and ESG teams actually need.

BUSINESS PICKUP

How e-waste pickup works

Tell us what you have

Send a rough inventory: device types and counts; photos help. We return an itemized quote within one business day.

Schedule the pickup

We collect at your dock, office, or server room anywhere in metro Atlanta, one-time or on a recurring schedule that fits your operations.

Data destruction first

Drives and data-bearing media are destroyed to industry standards before any device is processed, and you receive documents confirming the destruction.

Documentation back to you

You get chain-of-custody records and diversion tonnage for your compliance files and ESG reporting.

DATA SECURITY

Documented data destruction, before anything is recycled

Every hard drive, SSD, phone, and server that reaches us is treated as if it still holds your data, because it usually does. Storage media are wiped or physically destroyed using industry-standard methods before any device enters the recycling stream, and every job closes with documents listing the devices processed, the method, and the date.

Retiring paper records along with the hardware? The same chain-of-custody discipline backs our document shredding service, so one pickup can clear out the server room and the file room together.

COMPLIANCE & ESG

Paperwork your auditors will actually accept

E-waste is the waste stream most likely to embarrass a business: a drive with customer data or a CRT in the wrong dumpster is a real liability. We process electronics in line with Georgia and federal environmental regulations and document every step: what we collected, how data was destroyed, and where the materials went.

For sustainability reporting, we track the tonnage you divert from landfills. Those figures feed directly into ESG reports. For many of the 200+ businesses we serve, they're the easiest sustainability win of the year.

HOW PRICING WORKS

What decides the number on your quote

There is no single price for e-waste, because a pallet of laptops and a pallet of CRT monitors are opposite propositions. Devices with recoverable metal in them carry value; older display technology, mixed low-grade plastics and anything with a damaged battery carry handling cost. Your quote is the net of those two things across the actual mix you have.

Three other factors move it: volume, because a full load is more efficient to handle than a car boot of equipment; access, because a ground-floor dock and a fourth-floor office with a shared service lift are different jobs; and how much of the work sits with us: whether devices are staged and ready or have to be unracked, unplugged and carried out.

What that means in practice is that we quote itemized and up front. You see what each category is worth or costs before anything is collected, so the invoice contains no line you have not already seen. If the mix changes between quote and collection, we would rather requote than surprise you.

BEFORE THE PICKUP

What to have ready

Preparation is light, but the jobs that run smoothly all have the same few things sorted in advance. Get these right and a collection is usually a single, uneventful visit.

A rough inventory

Device types and approximate counts, plus anything unusual: CRTs, batteries, lab or medical equipment. Photos of a stacked store room are often quicker than a spreadsheet.

Data-bearing units flagged

Say which devices still hold drives or storage media. They are separated from empty chassis and displays at the point of collection so nothing data-bearing travels unidentified.

Leases and asset tags identified

Anything on a lease, under an asset register or awaiting a buy-back should be marked, so it can be logged as it is loaded and closed out on your side afterwards.

The route out of the building

Dock, service lift, stair access, height and weight limits, and any window building management requires. This is the single biggest cause of a collection taking twice as long as it should.

SERVICE AREA

Where we collect, and how to start

We collect business electronics across metro Atlanta from our facility on Aviation Pkwy, including the office and industrial corridors north of the city: Sandy Springs e-waste around Perimeter Center, the GA-400 technology corridor through Alpharetta, Cobb County via I-75, and Gwinnett along I-85. City-by-city pages are linked further down this page.

To start, send a rough inventory through the contact form or call and describe what is coming out of service. We will come back with an itemized quote and a collection window that fits the site rather than the route.

WHO IT'S FOR

Built for organizations that retire electronics in volume

Households have drop-off options; businesses need pickup, data security, and disposal records. That's the job we built this service around.

Offices & corporate IT

Refresh cycles, office moves, and closures: desktops, laptops, monitors, and printers collected in one scheduled pickup with an itemized manifest.

Healthcare practices

Data-bearing devices leave a HIPAA trail. Documented destruction keeps retired equipment from becoming a compliance problem.

Data centers & IT providers

Server, storage, and networking decommissions at rack scale, with chain-of-custody documentation from your dock to final processing.

Schools & universities

Lab refreshes, cart programs, and campus-wide cleanouts: high device counts, handled on academic schedules.
